I have to admit that when I started online marketing, I didn't know so much. One year on and I am still learning new things. Most of it is from newsletters that are sent to me through web pro news. But there is another source that I get information from. Harris Fellmans' Make money First ebook, which provides skills on making a killing online. That is traffic creation, sales copy writing and list building.
You learn how to create visitors to your website, these visitors then read your sales copy which causes them to take action and either buy something from you or join you as a subscriber.
